This comparison holds true between PSO2 and NGS
Everyone's upset their"progress" will not move over, but nobody seems to PSO2 Meseta understand that NGS is a wholly different game mode from PSO2 as we now know it. We do not even know if the skill trees or pool of available skills are 1:1 between PSO2 and NGS. They probably are not. This is similar to being upset your Xenoblade Chronicles advancement doesn't move over to Xenoblade Chronicles 2. They have comparable combat systems with similar leveling mechanisms, but they're not the same.
This comparison holds true between PSO2 and NGS. Comparing progress between the two games is like comparing apples to apples. What you are whining about is entirely unrealistic. And, if you are so much of a PSO2 purist which you'll simply refuse to perform NGS, fine, don't. You're still getting a full graphical overhaul of the primary game, and that alone is sufficient to get excited about. You're behaving like this may supercede PSO2 in every way and that the present PSO2 will just die. The original PSO2 is getting a complete engine rework and graphic overhaul, it couldn't be further from being lifeless. What more do you really want?
It needs to be"different-enough" to feel like your advancement in PSO2 has been for an entirely different game. Both in structure and in method. Something such as"crap NGS Advance Quests while fishing for RNG PSE bursts for 20 levels on each class" could be an issue. Something like the gap between PSO1 and PSU (200 character levels with adjusted classes versus 150 character levels and varying classes with 20 levels) or between GW1 and GW2 (20? Course levels with changeable classes vs 80 character levels with no varying classes) would help.This way the game has the primary core aspects players expect but is new and fresh at precisely the same time. I believe that it's still going to be instanced rather than truly open world. Gameplay shown up to now has shown 8 participant instance maxes. This wouldn't break current AI systems, thinking about the existing AI just follow your route or teleport to you if they get stuck. I'm thinking it will be a similar system to what Dragon's Dogma Online had. The world is huge and open, but everything out of towns was instanced. They watered down the climbing to some formula and changed a bunch of buy meseta pso2 classes but today that it's gone I always want to play it.
