With cultural diversification and multicultural interaction, cultural borderlands have been a common element in different societies. In exploring cultural borders, there are aspects that need to be examined. Various cultures give the society a different identity with adoption of their cultural practices. If the individuals of a certain culture have common perceptions and beliefs that lead to the adoption of their cultural practices, this can be termed as negotiation of these cultural borderlands. For instance, the Maasai African Culture has diffused to various communities in Africa and even across the world. Artwork has played a vital role in shaping different cultures across the globe. In our culture, traditional art is not well recognized as the other techniques from African countries. Therefore, people from our cultural setting appreciate these art galleries and purchase plenty of different sculptures that have African design and individual shapes from the Maasai community in Africa. The great artwork from beads and animal skins has been highly valued from this particular community. These are parts of the elements that our culture negotiates for cultural borderland in regards to the African Maasai culture. People form our culture tour during African summer periods to these societies to interact with the Maasai people and share their traditions. Individual techniques passed can influence and shape another culture . From my own point of view, art has played a great part in influencing the American culture. Through the traditional arts from Africa, black Americans have tried to maintain such arts from their motherland. These have been adopted by the American culture and has been showing increasing trends regarding the arts diffusion in our culture. For having a legacy, I envision intermarrying from these traditional African cultural communities to enjoy their culture since it is attractive.
