Most mages do RuneScape gold NOT use conflict magic to train; the experience given is terrible. If one"mud staffs" they require lots of soul runes or body runes and throw it onto a goal. To prevent it from working, they usually wear melee armor to ensure their magic attack lowers into the stage where successfully casting it's impossible. This method is very dull and costly, but more about the boring side.

With historical magic that the maximum hit with magic is 30 with the level 94 Ice Barrage spell. This spell splashes very frequently even when sporting the ideal gear, and is extremely expensive and reasonably slow. On the flip side, it may hit multiple targets; around nine at one time. This is great and all, but it's terrible with a one-on-one battle.

Modern magic, on the other hand, can strike around 30 with one of those god charms (Flames of Zamorak, Claws of Guthix and Saradomin Strike) at 80 magic (must cast Charge first and be sporting an appropriate cape). Their normal biggest hit is 20. They cannot auto-cast, and the staffs have horrible magic attack bonuses. Nonetheless, if your magic is 80 rather than very 82, the god charms might be helpful.

Magic armor, on the other hand, is hardly helpful in any respect. Should you spend tens of countless magical gear, you can have a magic attack bonus that nears +140 (mage's book, master wand, 3a mage helm, 3a amulet, infinity boots, Barrows gloves, and Seers' Ring, god cape, and Ahrim's top and underside robe). This is considerably low considering that melee armor has excellent ranged defense and ranged has amazing magic defense.

The very finest magical weapon in the game, the master wand, has a +20 magical attack bonus. It may auto-cast modern magic only. It is not very fast at all; in fact, not one of the magical weapons are, they do not even have special attacks! Mind you, these weapons just affect a mage's CHANCES of hitting. They don't effect your maximum hit at all. Many magicians only use the early staff for fighting anyways; it's the sole staff to buy RS gold auto-cast ancients.
