Keep in mind that EU has a lower server capacity

NA's Siel and Israphel capacity is set for 9000 each for aion classic kinah both. In addition, you can view the exact number of characters on the internet (for NA, RU and JP regions) when you hover your mouse cursor on the bar with the percentage. Other regions don't have exact numbers for online users or server capacity. They are only sharing percentages. But, you can use the search function to estimate your server's capacities in-game. It could return upto 10 characters, so you must split your results by class or maybe by levels if there's a lot of players online. The last time I created it for the EU - Stormwing server the server was set at only 3000 capacity. KR was sharing only percentage values , but then they started setting capacity 12000 for Israphel and Nazekan, and 10000 for Zikel, Vaziel. In the past, when they kept the exact capacity and numbers secret, three more KR classic servers had already been added.

Keep in mind that EU has a lower server capacity. The last time I've looked at Stormwing's cap, it was just 3000. However, Aion in EU has always had a higher population and Classic should bring more people to EU.

It's likely to take 3-4 months before the excitement has diminished and the majority of serious gamers have had enough of the present grind on gear and content. The chart that shows the peak players that I've included in the other comment, shows that the players are steadily decreasing.

Aside from that, how the balance between factions? Thinking about doing an elyos siel, as back in the day , they were played as an asmo. I'm just wondering what the biggest disadvantages are is there to doing it. Playing with Aussie wifi , so not too focussed on pvp, just want to have fun and play be pvvy/overworld with my chanter, mostly.

There is no way to tell, the group of players who intend on sticking with the game have already completed the first leveling phase. Therefore, there won't be a lot of players in the first areas aside from the occasional rift. Anyone who achieves 42 levels is pretty much guaranteed to remain.

I have played Aion both in the past and present. It is a fantastic game however, it is supported by a business that is ambitious to be successful. The reason that classic is having an unfavorable launch at present is due to the fact that Ncsoft decided to push an annual subscription on the player base, in addition to setting microtransactions with p2w in the game. The majority of games that don't use f2p don't attempt to euro aion classic buy kinah do that, so ncsoft obviously wants to make as much money as they can from the players before the hype wears off. Private server AIon could be better than f2p at this point in time.
