Six players will leave, three will come in. The question is who are they? The other question is are we skint?Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has stated that he will need to sell fringe players before he can even think about making anymore signings. This has come as a shock to many Pompey fans. How can a team that won the F.A Cup and have a millionaire owner become cash strapped? Well the answer is simple, Pompey havent got a bottomle s pit of money.Most of the players at the club are on high wages, not very surprising considering we have players such as Sol Campbell, David James and Peter Crouch. However even the fringe players are on high wages and seem happy to warm the Mario Edwards Jr. Jersey bench and collect their wages every week. David Nugent for example is reportedly earning 35,000 per week. Now Im not saying hes a fringe player, or someone that doesnt put good work ethic in however for someone that didnt make many appearances last season, theres a lot that can be questioned.The six players that will leave might not collect huge transfer fees but they will reduce the wage bill significantly. It could have been worse. Lauren has proved to be a good utility player and has played well when needed. Well Ill take a chance here and say that Youne s Kaboul and Nicky Shorey are most likely the players that Harry is after. Kaboul has said that hed like to join the Pompey revolution, to learn from the experienced Tony Adams and play under a great manager. However it is yet unknown whether Tottenham have accepted our bid for the French defender, whereas Sunderland have got permi sion to speak to him. The good news is that Kabouls agent has ruled out a move to Sunderland saying that the former Auxerre player needs to be watched and that can only happen with F.A Cup winners Portsmouth. Nicky Shorey would be a Danny Trevathan Jersey good acquisition with Redknapp needing cover in that particular area. He would cost around 5 million and Pompey would face stiff competition from long term admirers West Ham and Sunderland. Do not be surprised if Redknapp makes a move for left sided midfielder as well.
