December solstice and March equinox

Two intrepid souls, their earthly bonds severed, find themselves ensconced within the metallic embrace of the International Space Station (ISS), aphelion 2024. Astronomers define the Northern Hemisphere summer as the period between the June solstice and September equinox. For the Southern Hemisphere, summer is the period between the December solstice and March equinox.
